Meet Zainab Mohmand
Extra Help Chelmsford is owned by Zainab Mohmand and provides reliable and high-quality home-help and cleaning services to the following postcode areas: CM1, CM2, CM3, CM9, CM0.
Zainab lives in Moulsham Lodge with her husband and 2 daughters. With a background in care, she works as a private, live-in carer on an alternate week basis, while also running her Extra Help home-help franchise business.
Prior to the COVID pandemic, Zainab was working as a beautician.
“I’ve always loved working with people and making them feel good about themselves,” she says.
However, when the world went into lockdown, Zainab was unable to practise as a beautician and needed to find another way of earning an income. A friend mentioned that a local care home needed help and Zainab was asked to join the team there, eventually becoming a carer herself.
The journey to Extra Help
After some time, Zainab decided to explore the idea of running her own care agency, and began researching care franchises. However, she quickly realised that most required significant investment and were subject to complex rules and regulations. Just as she was ready to give up on her search, Zainab discovered Extra Help. This was her chance to use her skills and experience to provide support for the elderly in their own homes, as well as other people who needed help with day-to-day tasks, like cleaning and dog-walking.
“I was instantly attracted by the flexibility of the franchise and the chance to work for myself, growing the business at my own pace while still working as a carer,” she says.
Since becoming an Extra Help franchise owner, Zainab says she has benefited from the comprehensive support offered to her. This includes weekly ‘Power Hour’ Zoom sessions with her fellow franchisees and the franchisee support group on Facebook, where she can ask for advice and discover tips and ideas to grow her business.
