Extra Help’s Winning Formula: Top-Notch Support for Franchisees

At Extra Help, we know the success of our franchisees is the key to our ongoing success as a brand. That’s why we offer comprehensive support and resources that are designed to empower our franchisees. This helps them grow their businesses and provide valuable, high-quality home-help services, such as cleaning, meal preparation, dog-walking and companionship, to clients all over the UK.

Our commitment to providing ongoing support is reflected in the various initiatives we’ve recently launched, including interim training programs, one-to-one check-ins, and weekly, virtual ‘Power Hour’ sessions.

Empowering franchisees for success

As part of our dedication to providing our franchisees with quality training and development, we recently held an online, interim training session that was attended by more than 22 of our franchisees. This interactive session is part of our continued commitment to helping Extra Help’s franchisees stay ahead of the curve and grow their home-help businesses. Whether it’s introducing new tools to make their lives easier, refining their skills, or gaining insights into the latest industry trends, our training ensures that franchisees are equipped with the knowledge and confidence they need to thrive.

Here we see Berkeley pictured with the Extra Help Franchise network at the 2024 Conference.

This particular training session was led by Berkeley Harris, the managing director of the Sandler Consultancy. Berkeley is a renowned business coach and keynote speaker who has led several sessions for Extra Help in the past, so is a familiar face for many of our franchisees. He works with businesses to remove the pressures of achieving growth and, on this occasion, focused heavily on mindset and beliefs.

Feedback from our franchisees was extremely positive. Sarah Sanders, owner of Extra Help South Hams, Torbay and West Devon, said:

“I found the interim training really insightful, questioning how ‘what we put out there’ can manifest, both positively and negatively! I really enjoyed chatting with the network and sharing ideas in breakout rooms. Berkeley is always full of energy and having an external trainer brings a different set of eyes to the table, assessing our business practices and making suggestions on how best to improve!”

Here we have Sarah and Alexandra Extra Help Franchisees with Claire Franchisor and their fellow award winners, Rachel, Beverley and Leanne.

Alexandra owner of  Extra Help Milton Keynes, said:

“As a franchisee with Extra Help, I honestly feel the support is second to none. Last week, we all came together online for our mini-conference, which was the perfect opportunity to reset, regroup, and set goals for the next six months before the big conference in October. The 2-hour masterclass was exactly what we needed to give our businesses a real boost. It was full of practical tips and strategies we can start using right away. Plus, it was great to connect, share ideas, and learn from fellow franchisees. I’m excited to put everything into action and can’t wait to see the results before the October conference.”

Personalised support every step of the way

At Extra Help, we take a personalised approach to supporting our franchisees. In addition to our comprehensive group training sessions, they now receive one-to-one check-ins to ensure they’re on the right path. So far, we’ve held 16 of these meetings, with the remaining check-ins scheduled for this month.

These biannual check-ins provide an invaluable opportunity for franchisees to discuss their progress; address any challenges they may be facing; and receive advice from our experienced team. Whether it’s operational support, marketing strategies, or growth advice, Extra Help franchisees know they can count on us to provide the guidance they need to build their home-help businesses.

Katy Duncan, owner of Extra Help North Somerset, said:

“At first I was a little apprehensive about being checked up on, which sounds silly now!

It was an incredibly useful time, I was asked questions that would be healthy to regularly ask yourself, but you need a prompt. I felt encouraged and equipped by the end of the session and was more proactive in the following days. I enjoyed having time to go over a few details and questions that crop up as you go, especially things like optimising use of Birdie, and ideas for getting feedback from clients.

It was a good time of year as well, as business picks up after January and the conference seems ages ago!”

Another key element of Extra Help’s superior support system is our weekly Power Hour. Held online, these weekly sessions allow franchisees to connect with each another, exchange tips, share experiences, and offer advice. The Power Hour serves as a valuable space for collaboration, helping franchisees learn from their peers; discuss any challenges they’ve faced; and celebrate their successes together.

Feedback from franchisees suggests that the Power Hour is a great way to build a sense of community and foster an environment where they can support each other. By sharing insights and practical advice, franchisees gain fresh perspectives and learn new strategies to enhance their businesses. It’s just one more way we go above and beyond to make sure our franchisees have everything they need to thrive.
